Hi my name is Máire. I am currently working as a fully qualified English , History and Politics teacher registered with the teaching council. I hold a First Class Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Politics, along with a Professional Masters in Education and a Masters degree in History. I have been teaching in my current school for the past five years. I hold the post of Assistant Principal grade 2, leading teaching and learning among staff and students and have been head of the English Department in my school for the past three years. For the past four years I have acted as Leaving Certificate Examiner for the State Exams correcting Leaving Certificate English.

Having acted as a Leaving Certificate Examiner for the past four years, I have in-depth knowledge and experience in marking schemes and exam structure, which has enabled me to provide my students with the tools necessary to excel in their final exams. My lessons are focused on assisting each student in reaching their own individual potential. I strive to know my students, identifying their strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles, so I can tailor each lesson to suit their own individual needs. I have experience teaching students with additional needs such as EAL, autism, dyslexia, and dyspraxia and have developed the tools and resources to ensure that, despite additional challenges, each student is supported in reaching their full potential. I have six years’ experience working as a tutor and have a high success rate among my students, with two of my leaving Certificate grinds students from last year increasing their grades from H4 to H2 in just four months. My aim is to help each student reach their potential, providing them with the confidence and tools necessary to improve their results.
