Hi all! My name is Lisa and I am a qualified post-primary teacher in English and History. I have been teaching for ten years and have gained a number of skills over this vast time in education.
I have been teaching Leaving Certificate English for up to seven years and have consistently taught Higher level for five of these. I have also taught Junior Certificate English for the same length of time in both levels as well. I have also the same experience in History Junior Cert.
I also have experience as a State Examiner having gained extensive knowledge and insight correcting Leaving Certificate English. This has allowed me the understanding needed to scaffold and build essays, not just the clear understanding of the material but how to produce an essay.
I have experience teaching online during Covid and held Leaving Cert English classes for a year and a half during this time where students were excelled in their results.
Students will receive notes on all topics which can be made accessible to all learners and will vary depending on their needs. The learner's needs will be discussed in the first tutorial as to what they feel they need help with. My aim is to make students feel more comfortable and confident in accessing the curriculum and around the exam itself.
